IT'S A ......

Needless to say, Tarek is a little bummed out about the whole thing, but is trying to put on a good face, Poor Kid. Kalli and Dreyken are super excited though.

BARBIE JEEP

My cousin and his family are getting ready to move to Arizona, so they were selling off some of their things and one was a cute little Barbie Powerwheels Jeep. Dreyken has seen these in the stores and has asked for one several times but they are just a bit out of hers and my price range :) So, thanks to Maddy and Anna, Dreyken now has a Pink Barbie Jeep! She LOVES IT! My favorite part though was as I was tucking her into bed that night after having let her and Tarek drive it around until it had no more battery, she said "Mom, you are the nicest since you got that jeep for me. You are the nicest and Dad, he is just Terrible!" It was so funny to see her little face and of course I am never considered nicer then Dan to any of my kids, so this made my day.

HAIR CUT :(

Dreyken decided the other day that she wanted to look like her sister Kalli. Well, a while back I had taken Kalli in to get her hair cut and Dreyken decided that it was now her turn. :( Her and Tarek were making some Mother's Day Suprises for me and were using sissors in my kitchen. I looked over and noticed she wasn't in the kitchen any more, I called for her and she quickly came out of her room. She walked up and said "Look Mom! I got short hair!" Luckily the hair salon was able to give her a cute new hairdo and still keep her looking like a little girl :)
This is her hair a few weeks ago, you can see how long it had gotten and it had quite a bit of curl.
Here is her showing me her "Short Hair"
This picture shows the the hair cut a little better, but was taken on my phone so is not as good of quality
And the hairstyle after a visit to the salon. They used a blowdryer on her hair and curled it under with a brush. I prefer to not have to spend 20 minutes blowdrying her hair so the next picture is after a bath. I was so glad to see that she still has some of the curl left!

REAL SALT LAKE

This last Saturday we headed down as a family to Salt Lake to watch a Real Game. The kids were super excited when Dan told them he had tickets for the game. We went early so that we could participate in the Carnival Royal that they have for a few hours before the game starts. The kids got to play a bunch of games and won some really neat prizes. They were also running a deal that if you were in 15 minutes early you got a $5.00 food voucher which covered our ice cream treats we got about half way into the game. Dan had made all the kids learn the Real song before he would take them to the game, so all three (even Dreyken) knew the entire song - every word. They were also celebrating mother's day and they had the first 50 moms sign up to get to do a "Mom's Dash" I was one of the lucky 50 and got to head out on the field to "race" for some scrapbooking prizes. Some of them were Really Good! I ended up getting a really nice Scrapbook and a few other things. I also got to High Five the Lion! My kids responded with Kalli - "mom you looked funny out there" to Tarek - " You were AWESOME!" That is the difference you get between a kid who still thinks you are cool and one who is old enought to be embarrassed to be around her mom :) Real ended up winning 2-1 and it turned out to be a super fun family activity that we will definately be doing again.
Here is a video of the kids (mostly Dreyken) singing the song at the end of the game. Several people commented on the fact that she knew - and would sing - the entire song. She would sing as loud as she could anytime the song was played which was at the start and the end of the game and anytime they scored a goal.

UTAH

This last weekend I was able to go with my parents to Utah for my cousin Charlotte's wedding. I took Dreyken and Tarek with me while Dan stayed home with Kalli so she could try-out for a traveling soccer team.
(We are still waiting to find out if she made it or not) We drove down on Friday and made our way to the Temple for the wedding. I stayed outside with both the kids and we got to explore Temple Square. Tarek and Dreyken had never been there, and it had been awhile since I had been there so we had a really great time. The Temple grounds are so beautiful and it is just such a peaceful place. After the wedding we headed to a church for a dinner and reception. It was great to get to see some of my Dad's family that I don't get to see very often and visit. .
Then we headed back to the hotel and Jake and I took the kids swimming. They LOVED IT and didn't want to leave.
The next day we got back in the car and headed to Lagoon! It turned out to be a really nice day weather wise and the crowds were very small in the kids area (there was a DECA Competition going on in SLC so the other rides were PACKED!) and the kids got to walk on to almost every ride. Tarek was the only one who really wanted to go on the other rides, so my Dad, Jake and Jana did wait in line for a few rides he really wanted to ride. He is exactly 46" which is how tall you need to be to ride all the "BIG" rides. So, he took the challange and rode -- Wicked, Colossus, the White Rollar Coaster, and Spider! He was super proud of himself and enjoyed telling other park visitors how "Brave" he was.
Dreyken was so much better then last year and rode just about anything! She was super happy and made the day so much nicer. (Last year she refused to even go on Bulgy the Whale!) Thanks Mom and Dad for taking us along. We had such a great time

LOST TOOTH

Last night Tarek lost one of his top two teeth. It has been loose for several weeks and was super ready to come out. He is starting to look so much older and not like my little boy anymore.

EASTER EGGS AND A BUNNY!

We headed to the park this afternoon for a neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt! Jake, Jana, Riley and Sage were able to join us for all the fun - And what would be an Easter Egg Hunt without an Easter Bunny!? Dreyken and Riley were so excited. All the kids had a great time and once again I forgot my camera so thanks to Jana for the pictures of the kids. We then dyed eggs later in the day. We dyed some in Coeur d'Alene but the kids wanted to do it again. Now to try to teach them the True Meaning of Easter - Hopefully they remember some of the meaning behind Easter and why we really celebrate this holiday. Happy Easter!

SPRING BREAK (Picture Overload!)

(All of my parents grandkids except for Enoch: From left to right Timberlyn, Kanyon, Riley, Tarek, Dreyken, Kalli, Archimedes, Kaydra, Sage and Miranda)

This past week for the kids spring break we headed north to visit my sister Brooke and her family. My mom and I headed up on Tuesday with Kalli and Tarek (Dreyken was suppose to come and once again she was sick) Jake, Jana, Riley and Sage also come up with us on Tuesday and Markell, Andre and Archimedes were able to join us on Wednesday night. The kids had great time with their cousins, they got to explore the woods around the FitzSimmons house, see a ton of deer, splash in puddles and play in the rain.

On Thursday we headed to a place called Triple Play for Kanyon's Birthday. They had bowling, laser tag, miniture golf, pizza and swimming. The kids had a BLAST! Happy Birthday Kanyon!

On Thursday night, Dan, Dreyken, Paul and my Dad were able to come up (Dreyken only threw up four times on the ride and was totally convinced that Uncle Paul was trying to drive the truck into the lake - I think we have figured out that her medicine is making her have nightmares and anxiety)

On Friday the men and the kids went to see The Lorax while the girls went and explored downtown Coeur d'Alene.

Then on Saturday, the kids colored easter eggs and the real reason we all headed north - Kanyon got baptised! It was such a wonderfule baptisim, he is such an awesome young man and such a great example to his younger cousins (especially Tarek)

Anyway, as you can tell by the pictures it was a fun filled week and we had a great time. Thanks to the FitzSimmons for being such great hosts.
